| About Shivali Keshav Agrawal Shivali has been painting since her childhood days, inheriting the love of art from her artist father. Though a software engineer by profession, she's always been fascinated with paints and brushes. She didn’t know much about decorative painting until she once met a decorative artist in Japan in a crafts store in the year 2001. She was so much captivated with this stream of art that she decided to plunge in the colorful world of Decorative painting. Since then she's never looked back and now is completely engrossed in painting different Folkart styles of decorative painting, blending oil and watercolor techniques with decorative painting and at the same time teaching these techniques to her students at her studio FOLK ART COTTAGE and at Creative Hands, Takashimaya. She also teaches at seminars and art workshops in addition to birthday and kitty party fun workshops. Shivali is listed as a teacher with Society of Decorative Painters (SDP), USA. Few words from Shivali: What I love most about decorative painting is that every piece of work, big or small, simple or complex, can be divided into many small, simple steps that make every project achievable and fun to paint. Nothing is more pleasurable for an artist to see her piece develop gradually with each stroke. In the initial stages decorative art is a craft, which requires no previous academic training or skills. I believe decorative painting is and expression of joy and Its so easy to learn that even those who have never held a brush in their hand before can create remarkably beautiful pieces with a little effort and lots of joy.
